"Mestre was the first to bring contemporary dining to the island. The owner was a true innovator. Winters were spent primarily in Madrid searching new ideas for his restaurant. Sadly the food once served by chefs is now a dumbed down version prepared by cooks. The menu is much smaller and there are no specials. After 10 years as loyal customers, my wife and I paid our final visit last week. For anyone that never experienced the earlier incarnation, there 's a chance you will be impressed. My wife and I came away somewhat disappointed and quite sad. Ten years ago the menu was what could be described as challenging. Some dishes were obviously work in progress but that was all part of the experience. The owner was on hand to discuss and was keen to get feedback from diners. Last week our meal had no highs and only one dish that impressed. Pre Covid the croquettes were a 11 out of 10. Molten, gooey and a massive umami hit. We have jokingly said they were worth the airfare to Menorca. The generic version served on our recent visit were downgraded to a 7. The second dish was the smoked scallop. The small (was it cut in half) mouthful was served in a shell containing a small pool of soy, sesame oil and lime? Both of us were waiting for a burst of flavour that never materialised. The Thai Pork and squid salad should be downgraded to simple Pork and squid salad. There was no trace of any Thai influences. Absolutely zero Next up was a dish we both found quite offensive. The fish ceviche. Once upon a time this was a taste sensation. Last week, the tiger 's milk associated with the curing was replaced by what tasted like a thickened fish stock. Very weird and unpalatable. Fortunately the day ended with the best dish. Beef flank with baby crispy potatoes. The meat was tender and quickly seared on the plancha. Having said that, if a cook chef got this wrong, they should be flipping burgers at McDonalds. It is worth mentioning that the owner has interests in two other restaurants on the island. One is excellent and the other is still on the bucket list."

Cada plato ha sido un descubrimiento de sabores nuevos, unido a un trato excelente del dueño y los camareros y el entorno espectacular en su terraza, un placer en toda su extensión, eso si, en Octubre y sin agobios. Muy recomendable.

Increíble experiencia en el puerto de Mahón. Mezcla de sabores y cocinas internacionales genial. El jefe de comedor nos trató como a su familia. Volveremos en nuestro próximo viaje a Menorca. Sobre algunas opiniones/reseñas sobre los precios… que decir….. Menorca, Mahón, vacaciones, local de lujo, el puerto, ingredientes exquisitos, trato excepcional….. todo esto tiene precio. 300% recomendable

De las mejores croquetas que he comido en mi vida (ahora que mi madre no me escucha! Una comida super bien elaborada, con mezcla de sabores, picantito en su punto, un servicio buenísimo y de postre la tarta de queso espectacular. No sabría con que plato quedarme y hubiera probado la carta entera. Además de las croquetas pedimos ensalada Thai, puerro asado, bombón de ternera, samosas de pollo y nos pusieron un hummus riquísimo de aperitivo. Sin duda muy recomendable relación calidad precio! Volveremos a probar más cosas!

Una carta de las que tienen el truco de que son platos elaborados con anterioridad y montadas por personal relativamente lego en gastronomia. Las racione se sirven bajo un algoritmo que que obliga a tomar un minimo de raciones..que son algo escasas. El servicio es el del tipico camarero que esta ahi por que no encuentra algo mejor y a duras penas sabe abrir una botella de vino sin manosearla, girarla y dejar la botella en la mesa sin tener la cubitera preparada. El servicio tiene que ser mas rapido y mas tranquilo. Los precios siguen subiendo cada año y la calidad ha bajado. Las croquetas muy buenas la verdad. Las vieiras estaban OK pero mejorable. No estaba bien emolusionado el aceite ahumado y el ponzu. Y las conchas estaban agujeradas por lo cual toda la salsa se perdió. El pate de los bombones de carne es realmente malo. Por favor cambiarlo, llevais años con este pate vegano y no tiene sentido alguno. Ademas recomiendo un toque caramelizado/umami mas. La lemon pie le falta un toque crujiente y le falta mas acidez y frescura. Tambien falta algo mas de autentizidad en los platos y mas explotacion de los productos localeas. We tried to get served drinks here last night, hoping for some really lovely wine as it’s a wine bar When we arrived around 7.15 there were no other drinkers or diners to be seen We asked to be seated and for the wine list We were rudely told we had to sit at the barrels (used as tables) with high seats if we were just drinking I explained I have a back problem and asked if I could use one of their many chairs whilst we shared a bottle of wine.
